Free & Fit - Saying Goodbye to Fishing Creek
Liza and I will be saying our final farewell this Sunday to our beloved Fishing Creek Church family, during a week where the English soccer and rugby ladies' teams have done us proud! Elected Manager and Goalkeeper of the Year at this year’s illustrious Ballon d’Or, both Sarina Wiegman and Hannah Hampton were standout performers this summer, where England won the European Championships.
Today, it would be rude not to mention our English Ladies Rugby Club win — yet another major tournament that eludes the men’s equivalent — and the ladies rejoice! We love our English ladies' success stories and will keep you updated as and when further victories come!
Especially those who represent us in tennis, track and field, and swimming, which are some of my own preferred and favorite sports.

As we look to what’s next in the week ahead — but before we do — let me share with you my own reflection on my time at Fishing Creek. This is what I wrote to our church in my final email to them:
My Good Fishing Creek people — we have done so much! It will be sad to say goodbye. We love you!
Restored the Children’s Message (thank you Palmer & Hunter), supported Pastor Amanda and the Canton/Clyde hurricane responses, the Rock Hill A21 Walk for Freedom, the Blessing of the Animals, Maundy Thursday foot washing, that new entry walkway access, special Easter and Christmas services, Devontae and Kaylee’s wedding, Jim and Louise’s weddings, and an amazing fellowship, friendship-building, and Gospel-preaching Sunday services!
This week, being my last Sunday, I am excited to share a message with you about “Finding Faith for the Future!”
Please come and join us as we say goodbye and celebrate the time we have had together with our Good Lord!
“As for me, I will certainly not sin against the Lord by ending my prayers for you. And I will continue to teach you what is good and right. But be sure to fear the Lord and faithfully serve him. Think of all the wonderful things he has done for you.”
