Prayer & Reflection: Where do you look when you seek an opportunity? What do you do when you are making an important decision? Who do you look to for your special council? How do you guide your own rhythm and routines to make final choices? Why may I ask do you go there? If these answers don’t provide you with one resounding answer I am somewhat dismayed. It’s not your spouse, friend, work colleague, mentor, life coach, pastor or spiritual counsellor. No it’s Jesus Christ and Him Crucified.
We have to go back to the door, stop throwing spaghetti at the wall and begin instead to seek, knock and open the gateway to HEAVEN! This Easter we have a reminder and it’s the glorious victory of the CROSS! Jesus didn’t die for a Cadburys Cream Egg, a Double Scotch or return to Tik Tok. No Jesus died for your sins, your salvation and to save your soul. We must not shut the door, slam it shut and then expect him to open it again. He never closed the door in the first place. We did! Jesus is open, alive and ready for you to return to Him!
Instead of dying for chocolate, social media or sangria let’s get back to our first love. Let’s get back to the one who saves, who is sovereign and is in control of it all. Yes Jesus runs the country, Yes Jesus runs the world order and Yes Jesus runs our life well, better than you and I, if only we will let Him!
Let’s pray for Him to return to us right now…
Jesus come back into my life, my door is open and I am desperate for you to let me in and I choose to deny myself, to follow you and to begin to come back to the well of Praise and Glory that you grant me in and through your Holy Spirit in Jesus name. Amen
